What function does a bolt probe extension perform?

The factory bolts on some airguns don't push the pellet far enough into the barrel. When the pellet isn't far enough into the barrel the skirt of the pellet can block the transfer port from the valve. This will interfere with the flow of gasses. Any blockage of the transfer port will reduce the amount of energy available to accelerate the pellet. Furthermore the pellet may not be fully engaged in the rifling. The process of seating the pellet into the rifling will further reduce the available energy. An extended bolt probe addresses these problems.

Maintenance

Don't use harsh solvents intended for firearms to clean your airgun. These have a tendency to attack the seals in your airgun. Use a mild citrus based solvent, windex, or rubbing alcohol.
